OVEN 180 RESTAURANT, MADRID

Located in the city’s most sophisticated district, Oven 180 Restaurant is one of Madrid’s latest additions to its trendy dining list. It serves a traditional Spanish and contemporary Mediterranean menu, although the name refers to the 180 degrees that ovens are heated at for baking bread (the original plan was to open a pastry shop!). Despite the Spanish recipes and baking associations, the most famous dish is the good-old hamburger. But that’s no ordinary burger — it’s been rated Madrid’s best, and at 22 euros, you know it’s more than just cooked meat. All of that has peaked Madrileños’ curiosity and in addition to the fine menu they find a well-designed space by renowned designer Pascua Ortega. That means good food, good ambience, and good decor — the ingredients necessary to turn it into a dining hotspot. It has proven to please everyone, and another unusual fact is that it is open for breakfast! And that’s the most reasonably-priced meal you’ll have there, as the lunch and dinner menus are at higher-than-average prices — but worth it.
