São Paulo has a new urban oasis, so necessary in one of the world’s busiest metropolises. Only months old, KAA Restaurant is a beautifully designed space that has already been recognized by the American Institute of Architecture in Los Angeles with a Restaurant Design Award. It’s the creation of architect Arthur Casas, a native of São Paulo who also has an office in New York. He created a lush, high-ceilinged interior, with a wall covered with thousands of green plants, and a retractable roof over part of the space. It’s a cool interior for one of the city’s hottest restaurants, serving a creative menu of French-Italian inspiration. The space also includes a bar and lounge area, and makes as much use of natural light as possible. Wood, water, and stone further create a natural atmosphere for guests to escape the concrete jungle outside. It’s a hotspot not to be missed when in Brazil’s most sophisticated city.
