SUMMER DAYS IN BUDAPEST

Budapest is one of the best destinations during the longer summer vacation because it can be combined with so many other cities in central and Eastern Europe. Before or after the Hungarian capital you can easily visit Vienna, Prague, or Berlin, and if you do that this summer you’ll likely find a festival going on.
Lasting 150 days, Zöld Pardon is a summer festival with concerts on two stages every night. It actually starts in spring (this month) and runs until September, with concerts at 8PM and a clubbing atmosphere at 10PM when DJs mix dance, hip hop and R&B to large crowds. Admission costs 400HUF (about 1.5 euros or 2 US dollars), and once inside you can also get cheap drinks and food.
Then, starting on the first of June and until the last day of August you can also catch open-air theater during the Budapest Summer Festival, with performances starting at 8:30PM in Margaret Island, the city’s beautiful protected park. You may check the website for the scheduled performances: eng.szabadter.hu
Also in summer, from July until mid-August, there is “Budafest,” an opera festival that takes place outdoors. You can already check out the list of scheduled performances at the event’s website: www.budafest.hu
And of course, before you go, you can’t miss the ultimate Budapest city guide.
