The Best of Florence's BARS and CLUBS
Enjoying a night out in Florence

Angels
For a trip back to the present during a tour of historical Florence, head to this well designed restaurant and wine bar. It's just steps from the Duomo and you can come for traditional regional and Mediterranean cuisine, or better yet, for drinks in the warm, dimly lit space.

Dolce Vita
One of the city's favorite hangouts at night, this is the place for a cozy evening of drinking and people-watching. There is also an art gallery that serves as an exhibition space for local artists, and a wine bar with selected international wines.

YAB club, Florence Yab
Still strong after three decades, this club attracts a slightly older crowd, and that's good news if you're in your 30s. Some nights are taken over by hip hop, but the favorite sounds are the latest dance remixes. You can also show up earlier for a candlelit dinner at the restaurant.

Meccanò
As one of the city's most popular clubs, Meccanò often gets packed with young crowds, who hang out by one of the several bars or get together on the dancefloors. In the summer months additional dancing space is provided outside, while special theme nights are held throughout the year.

Universale
It is worth heading to the Oltrarno district for this former movie theater converted into a stylish club centered on a large oval bar. The clubbing area is downstairs, while a dining area is found on the upper level. The crowd tends to be a mixture of pretentious rich kids and more laid-back folks.

CAPOCACCIA - Lungarno Corsini 12/R
Light meals are served during the day, while at night this is the place for cocktails and DJ music. The fashionable Florentine crowd sees it as a café in daylight (especially for weekend brunch) and as a trendy bar at night, when the fantastic cocktails are prepared by the barman.

J.K. Place Lounge
This hotel lounge-restaurant feels like a private member's club upstairs, while downstairs it has a chill-out mood. It's the place for an evening cocktail away from the crowds surrounded by a sophisticated décor glowing in different lights (such as all-pink in The Pink Room).

Tenax
Still the most international club in Florence after more than two decades, Tenax is the place to go for clubbers of every age and income. It's an industrial-chic space where big-name international DJs make guest appearances and that is packed every Saturday night for the city's hottest weekly party.
