Shopping at the best stores in Paris, Milan, and New York is pretty glamorous, but nowhere will you find glitziest and more alluring shopping meccas than in L.A.

Shopping in Los Angeles Start in Beverly Hills and stroll down famous Rodeo Drive where you can browse or window-shop even if what you're looking at is out of your price range.

From there you can move on to Robertson Boulevard or Third Street for the trendiest boutiques in town, and end at The Grove, finally housing the brands most of us can afford.

In between it all, look for and perhaps fall into temptation and get a special designer item to take back home at one of the city's major design destinations.

SPECIAL DESIGNS

Decades
Designer fashions from decades ago fill this vintage couture shop owned by Cameron Silver who's dressed celebrities such as Jennifer Lopez, Nicole Kidman, and Renee Zellweger. Together with those 1960s and 70s Chanels you'll also find contemporary resale items.

Maxfield
Avant-garde fashions by Comme des Garçons, Yamamoto, and Jil Sander are just some of the designs you'll find at this shop that also sells furniture and usually features some provocative window displays.

TableArt
Creative directors and art designers love this shop on Melrose Avenue devoted to designer homeware and fine dining. You'll see linens, tableware, and glassware that only a few can afford, but you may end up feeling like splurging.

Twentieth
If you love interior design you must visit this shop on Beverly Boulevard. In one section it displays vintage furnishings, while on another is a gallery of local modernist designers. Many of the customers are Hollywood set designers looking for something cool, and you'll probably end up doing the same.

Pacific Design Center
The dozens of showrooms of this design center is one of Los Angeles' best known destinations for interior design. It used to be only open for the design trade, but it now welcomes everyone. Take advantage of that and browse for your perfect (and expensive) item to take back home.

SHOPPING MECCAS

ROBERTSON BOULEBARD
This trendy boulevard in West Hollywood is lined with boutiques such as Kitson, Lisa Kline, and DDC Lab around the corner, all favorites of young Hollywood. Because of that you'll see paparazzi looking for celebrities on their shopping sprees or on their way to the famous Kabbalah Center also located on this street.

Rodeo Drive, Shopping in Los Angeles RODEO DRIVE
This world-famous shopping street is the glitziest in L.A., housing the shops of the world's top designers. You'll also find some less exclusive brands, but keep in mind as you stroll down this glamorous street that you must have a very high limit on your credit card before you decide to buy anything.

The Grove
With no historic downtown area devoted to shopping, Los Angeles came up with this shopping complex. It's located next to the Farmer's Market and is home to many of the names you'll find at shopping malls, including Abercrombie & Fitch and Banana Republic. A free trolley runs through the area, adding to the look and feel from earlier times.

THIRD STREET, WEST HOLLYWOOD
West Hollywood's Third Street Is lined with hip and upscale shops, trendy cafes, and restaurants. Many are filled with famous faces who come here looking for European designer clothing and the latest local designers.
