Shopping in Marrakech means browsing the SOUKS for the local crafts still made in small workshops not far from Djemaa El-Fna Square. The streets that cross Mohammed V Avenue have a number of interesting boutiques, especially RUE DE LA LIBERTÉ, with the highest concentration of chic shops in the city. In fact, it's in that Gueliz district's wide avenues that you'll have most of Marrakech's galleries and shops. The ones you should not miss are the following:


Galerie Serghini shop, Marrakech Galerie Serghini
Leather rules at this shop presenting a wide range of fashions and accessories. It's just one of the essential stops in Gueliz, with belts, jackets, and bags in high-quality Moroccan leather as the best buys.

Matisse Art Gallery
Contemporary Moroccan artists are featured in this gallery located in the heart of the Gueliz district. There are also works by early 20th century artists and sometimes foreign works, but the goal of this space is to promote local artists.

Michele Baconnier
French artist Michele Baconnier has based herself in Marrakech, creating colorful works inspired by the exotic designs of Asia, Turkey, and Morocco. Her shop offers handmade carpets, jewelry, and lamps, among other pieces.
