Juice Co
The Leblon beauties must keep their figure, so to help them in that there is this trendy restaurant. The health-conscious find organic dishes, from delicious salads to grilled meats, and the sleek setting allows them to do it in style.

Mil Frutas
We found other branches of this cafe but the one to go is found in Ipanema's Rua Garcia D'Avila (the neighborhood's most fashionable shopping street) at number 134. Fruity juices and ice scream are the specialties, made with the exotic Brazilian fruits and a number of other flavors, for a total of over 150 choices. The salads, wraps, and sandwiches are also good after a day at the beach, and you can sit outside to continue working on your tan.

Confeitaria Colombo
Confeitaria Colombo, Rio de Janeiro cafe This European-style café located downtown could very well be in Lisbon. Although it was opened decades after Brazil gained independence from Portugal, you'll see the clear European influences in the décor, from the mirrored walls to the stained glass in the ceiling. It was the meeting place of Rio's wealthiest population in the early 20th century, and is now a favorite historical spot for afternoon coffee or tea. The restaurant upstairs presents Portuguese and Spanish cuisine.

Garcia e Rodrigues
You can't miss this place when you're in Leblon. It's a café, pastry shop, restaurant, and deli where you'll find an interesting mix of Brazil and France on the menu. It's also the perfect stop if you want to grab a sandwich to take to the beach, with about three dozen choices of bread and cheeses.

Caroline Café
This casual-chic hangout by the city's botanical garden is one of only a few reasons Rio hipsters leave Ipanema and Leblon. It's a charming place inside but best enjoyed at the outdoor tables, where you'll be served some traditional Brazilian home-style cooking. It also has a sushi bar and offers a long list of drinks that range from cocktails and caipirinhas to imported beers.

Zuka
Located in Leblon's "restaurant street", Zuka serves European dishes and seafood to some of the city's most fashionable crowds. Ask for anything grilled, and it will be presented to you in perfection, while the desserts and cocktails will likely make you want to return.

Sushi Leblon
People don't mind staying in long lines for some time at this restaurant only to try its sushi (or the famous shrimp with foie gras). They know it's the best in the city, and the smart interior design is just perfect to match the hip crowds.

Manekineko
Although it competes with Sushi Leblon (see above) for the title of best Japanese or sushi restaurant in Rio, it's actually contemporary fusion cuisine that you'll see on the menu. There is more than one branch for you to try it but the one to head to is in Leblon on Rua Dias Ferreira 410.

Zaza Bistro, Rio de Janeiro restaurant Zaza Bistro
Mix Brazilian and Oriental flavors and you get this charming bistro in Ipanema. Sit outside on the lovely terrace after a day at the beach or head upstairs to the candlelit space in the evening for a caipirinha.

Porcão
There are different branches of this lively restaurant but go to the one in Ipanema to experience a Brazilian "churrasco." And here that pretty much means a total meat-fest where meat doesn't stop coming to your table until you end up feeling like you live up to the name of the place (it means "big pig" in Portuguese). Make sure you come with an empty stomach to get the full experience. There's a buffet salad bar to start and then the waiters will bring you all sorts of meat, with the picanha (the Brazilian equivalent of filet mignon) as the one everyone salivates for.

Apazivel
The chic Leblon crowd moves uphill to the Santa Teresa neighborhood to eat at this restaurant, in its elegant rustic interior or at the garden and its romantic gazebo. No matter where you get a table, you'll be able to try some refined and well-presented traditional Brazilian dishes and sip on some great caipirinhas.

GERO RIO - 157 Rua Aníbal de Mendonça
Rio's newest Italian favorite uses a space with exposed brick, wood floors, and soft lighting to serve some fine seafood, pastas, and meats to the city's beautiful people.
