The Best of Seville's BARS and CLUBS
Enjoying a night out in Seville

Leave the flamenco shows to the tourists and experience a night out like a true Sevillano. If you still want to experience some flamenco, there is a good, more authentic place for that, but Seville's lively nightlife is lived on the streets and in the clubs. The warm summer nights force people outside to the Alfalfa and Alameda neighborhoods as well as by river. That's where you'll find most of the city's bars, although the best ones to look for are these:

Catedral Club
For drinks in the afternoon, choose the Catedral Lounge which opens at 4PM from Thursday to Sunday. Return at night for the major dance parties at the club, with DJs choosing R&B and house mixes.

LA CARBONERIA - Calle Levíes 18
You'll probably want to check out a flamenco show when you're in town. Be warned that most are touristy and mediocre, although La Carbonería is an exception. It is where the true fans gather, with the flamenco dancing happening spontaneously. It's set in a former warehouse, and there are two atmospheric bars for drinking in between shows.

Bauhaus Cafe, Bar in Seville Bauhaus Café
It opens at noon and only closes at 4AM. It serves light meals during the day, and turns into a club at night. There are tables outside, while indoors several DJs provide a soundtrack as you eat. From Thursday to Saturday there are special DJ electro-house sessions brought to life by video projections and visual effects.

Boss
Seville's most happening club at the moment is Sala Boss, often attracting the country's famous faces. Despite sometimes being a celebrity hangout, it's surprisingly accessible, with a well dressed crowd filling the space decorated with huge world map murals.

Antique Theatro
The Expo 92 Olympic Pavillion has turned into this lively dance club. It's open on weekend nights for major dance parties, with the torch-lit terrace being the best place to be on a summer night, enjoying the high temperatures and sipping cocktails. Look your best to increase your chances of getting in.

Bavara Bar, Seville Bavara
This tastefully designed space serves drinks starting at 3PM and turns into a club after 10PM. It offers a spacious VIP area and special dance parties on weekends

Buddha del Mar
Housed in a former train station, this club is spread over three floors and includes a restaurant serving Asian fusion cuisine. The central dancefloor is surrounded by sofas and tables, while a connected terrace is open during the good weather months, with its candlelit low tables being the perfect spot for drinks.

Terraza Capote
The idea was to create the feeling of a beach bar in the middle of the city. It overlooks the river and the palm trees and tables were placed together to make this Seville's outdoor hotspot. It's great for a drink in the afternoon, although the DJs only arrive at night when most of the crowds also show up.

Abril Club, Seville Abril
Located inside the Hotel Meliá Lebreros, this club was inspired by the famous New York clubs of the 1980s but with a contemporary look. It has three different spaces, each with its own bar.

Wave
To dance until the sun rises on weekends, choose Wave, dedicated to attracting major DJs to spin mostly techno and house tracks.
