The city's shops and shopping streets |
|
Tel Aviv has several shopping areas which include streetside markets and designer boutiques. Shopping is a great way to soak up the city's streetlife and exuberant atmosphere, although doing it indoors at the malls is an equally popular activity among Tel Avivians. DIZENGOFF CENTER is the favorite shopping mall, with national brands opening their flagship shops there, as the building is located in the city's main commercial street. Another fashionable mall is the OPERA TOWER MALL, in a good central location and with a variety of shops.
The trendiest street is SHEINKIN, known for its cafes but also for shops that are popular with the youngest and hippest crowds. Those who enjoy markets should not miss the FLEA MARKET in Old Jaffa and CARMEL MARKET for its stalls of fresh produce and cheap clothing.
SHINE - 12 HaRakevet Street
Along with pieces by rising Israeli and European designers, Alice Daham presents her military-style fashions at her shop that is one of the city's favorite. There is a good selection of accessories.
Bauhaus Center
Fans of the Bauhaus style so common in Tel Aviv can pick up books, posters, and Bauhaus-style home accessories at the Bauhaus Center or online if you can't wait until you get there.
SoHo Design Center
Tel Aviv's young designers now have this shop to showcase their talents, with their furniture and home accessories hoping to gain visibility and attract collectors.
Michal Negrin
That's Michal and not Michael or Michelle. Negrin's jewelry has modern but also classic designs and is sold around the world. Every piece is hand-made by Israeli artisans and her flagship boutique in Tel Aviv is the best place to take a close look at them in a romantically decorated space.
Katomenta
You can check out the collections of Israel's young designers together with some other international ones at this shop that stocks both casual clothing and high fashion. It's located on Dizengoff Street, helping it become one of the most popular boutiques in the city.
Agas & Tamar
The fine jewels at this shop are inspired by ancient coins and natural gem stones, and are all quite unique handmade masterpieces. They are carried around the world in fine jewelry shops and bought by Hollywood celebrities, but it's their home in Tel Aviv that offers the biggest selection.
Yael Herman
Yael Herman has been selling striking contemporary jewels since 1982. She uses 18k gold in simple geometric forms that can be worn with casual or elegant evening wear.
